Jay-Z Appears To Target Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, And Dame Dash

Jay-Z seems to direct remarks at Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Dame Dash, and Tory Lanez during a freestyle performance at the 2026 Roots Picnic.

On May 30, Jay-Z headlined the annual concert held at Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Prior to his eagerly awaited set, he expressed his thoughts during a surprise acapella freestyle aimed at various critics.

Jay-Z appeared to address a subliminal jab from Drake in the track “Iceman,” stating, “I’m up 10/Wrong chart, champ, you gotta look up again/People look up to Hov, I never looked up to them/Their team has your publishing, so go talk tough to them/Don’t speak of success to me, you are employees/The terms of your contracts are set for eternity.”

Dame Dash was also mentioned.

“Another one fumbled his, wonder how I get the blame?/People are stumbling over their own words and somehow I’m being accused, it’s a mystery,” he added.

Jay-Z seemed to target Nicki Minaj as well with the line, “That lady is back on the scene, she sounds enamored with him/Her partner can’t even take care of their children, that’s enough.”

Kanye was included in the remarks, as Jay-Z appeared to respond to comments made by the Chicago rapper about his children last year.

“Have you heard of a wunderkind?/My children are some of them, do you have no shame?” he rapped. “You all think you can get under my skin/I really penetrate, ask Un how it goes/I see you with your antics again/Everyone believes they are the ones who are unhinged/You’re not a maniac, watch how composed he is in my presence, some shrink.”

Dame Dash has since responded to Jay-Z’s comments. On Sunday (May 31), he posted an AI-generated image on Instagram depicting Jay-Z as the cartoon character Goofy.
