Ayra Starr Discusses How Her Upcoming Album Reflects Her Development

Afrobeats artist Ayra Starr has discussed her forthcoming studio album, emphasizing that it reflects her personal growth and artistic development.

During an appearance on Apple Music Radio Takeover, the 23-year-old artist shared insights about how the project represents her journey into adulthood and features a new, evolving sound.

“I’m literally becoming a woman, and you can hear that in my music now. I’m growing sonically and I want to try different things, just put myself out there and have fun while doing it,”

she stated.

Ayra Starr also acknowledged a period when she became too serious about her music, which caused her to lose some of the enjoyment that initially motivated her creative path.

“I kind of lost the plot a bit and took it too seriously. It was never that deep,”

she explained.

She further expressed that her upcoming album aims to reconnect with a sense of freedom and joy, reinstating the playful energy that initially attracted her to music.

“I brought the fun back, and we’re enjoying ourselves,”

Ayra Starr noted.

While the official title of the album has not yet been disclosed, fans have had a preview of what to expect with the release of the lead single, Where Do We Go, ahead of the complete project anticipated later this year.
