Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayra Starr has expressed a wish to collaborate with Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy. She made this statement during a recent interview with Billboard, conducted in advance of the 68th Grammy Awards, set for February 1, 2026.

When asked which artist she most desires to work with from the nominees for Best African Music Performance, Ayra Starr named Burna Boy without hesitation. She stated,

“Everybody knows Burna Boy is my number one person I want to collaborate with.”

In response to her comment, the interviewer mentioned the possibility of a future collaboration, suggesting that audiences could look forward to a partnership between Burna Boy and Ayra Starr. The singer reacted enthusiastically, saying,

“Amen, it is my prayer for real.”

Ayra Starr is nominated for the 2026 Grammys for her song “Gimme Dat,” featuring Wizkid, and is competing against Davido and Omah Lay’s “With You” and Burna Boy’s “Love” in the same category. She mentioned that she has previously collaborated with some of the other artists nominated and hopes to work with all of them eventually.
