Zlatan Refutes Claims That He Stated His Partner Lamai Is Not His Wife

Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has addressed claims suggesting he referred to his partner, Davita Lamai, as simply his “baby mama” instead of his wife.

The issue arose following a Snapchat exchange that circulated online on January 27, 2026, which generated significant reactions. In a screenshot, a user named Olohitare asked, “I hope your wife is doing fine, sir?” A response that appeared to be from Zlatan’s account stated, “She is the mother of my kids but she is not my wife yet. She is fine.”

Zlatan has clarified that this exchange did not come from him.

On his official X (formerly Twitter) account, he denied making such a statement and labeled the Snapchat conversation as fabricated. He emphasized that he had never posted anything like that on his Snapchat and advised fans to be cautious when engaging with unverified content online.

In a direct response, Zlatan posted, “Y’all know I hate to shalaye But if you’re still one of those who can’t differentiate or confirm before you engage an agenda post in 2026 !! You don’t deserve to have internet on your phone !! THIS IS FAKE !!! banger boy your time is coming soon.” He further encouraged social media users to be aware of fake accounts and misleading narratives, highlighting the necessity of verifying information before responding or sharing.

Additionally, the page responsible for spreading the false information has reportedly issued an apology, providing some resolution to the situation as Zlatan distances himself from the rumor.
