Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known as Wizkid, has responded to Seun Kuti after several days of escalating verbal exchanges between them.

Wizkid took to the Instagram Stories feature on his verified account to directly address Seun Kuti, asserting that he is “bigger than Fela Anikulapo-Kuti,” the renowned Afrobeat pioneer and Seun’s late father.

Seun Kuti has been vocally critical of Wizkid’s fanbase, often labeling them as ignorant for referring to Wizkid as the “New Fela.” He has also made personal remarks about Wizkid, questioning the spiritual authenticity of his music and arguing that Wizkid’s success does not hold the same significance as his father’s legacy.

Additionally, Seun has claimed that Wizkid’s fanbase lacks the ability to fill stadiums, unlike Davido’s 30BG or Burna Boy’s Outsiders, and he has highlighted his father’s contributions as the originator of Afrobeat.

The situation intensified when Wizkid shared a video on his Instagram Stories in which a woman described both Fela and Seun Kuti as “mad,” marking the commencement of his public reply.

Wizkid continued by posting a message that directly addressed Seun Kuti, undermining his relevance and making personal comments regarding his age and impact. He wrote,

“Pussyboy @bigbirdkuti, ok I big pass your papa, wetin u wan do? Fool at 40.”

He then followed up with a post on X (formerly Twitter), comparing Fela’s activism with Seun’s online disputes, stating,

“Fela fight for freedom, this fool dey fight FC! Oloshi omo ale!”

This ongoing dispute has generated significant reactions on social media, with fans of both artists engaging in discussions about legacy, relevance, and the intersection of musical achievement and cultural significance. Seun Kuti has not yet publicly responded to Wizkid’s latest comments.
