Davido Responds To New DNA Test Request From Alleged Daughter ‘Anu’

Award-winning Afrobeats artist Davido has responded to a renewed request for a DNA test from a young woman who claims to be his daughter, which has brought new attention to a longstanding paternity issue.

The dispute, which has persisted for a decade between the singer, David Adeleke, and Ayotomide Labinjo, resurfaced after Labinjo’s daughter, Anuoluwapo, shared a heartfelt message online on January 15, 2026. In her post, the teenager discussed the psychological impact the situation has had on her life.

Anuoluwapo stated that she faced years of bullying in primary school after asserting that Davido was her father. She mentioned that the teasing started when she was six years old, causing her significant emotional distress and ultimately leading her to seek professional mental health support.

Describing her experience as deeply challenging, she noted that she ceased discussing her family background upon entering secondary school.

As she nears her teenage years, she is now calling for a final DNA test, emphasizing the importance of “establishing her identity” as she matures.

Davido’s response was swift, expressing frustration over the situation and reiterating that the matter had been resolved previously. In response to a comment on social media suggesting he should consider the request given his role as a father, he stated that multiple DNA tests had already occurred.

This aligns with earlier remarks from his former lawyer, Bobo Ajudua, who disclosed last year that DNA tests had been performed at two respected medical facilities, one chosen by the Labinjo family, with all results reportedly negative.

Nonetheless, Anuoluwapo asserts that an independent test would provide her with personal closure and peace of mind.
