Bad Bunny And J Balvin Come Together For A Performance In Mexico City As Part of The Tour Finale

Two prominent figures in Latin music concluded 2025 with a significant display of unity. Colombian artist J Balvin appeared as a special guest in Mexico City during the final show of Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s world tour.

On December 21, the two artists put to rest any speculation regarding tensions between them by sharing the stage at GNP Seguros Stadium for the finale of the “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour.” This marked their first joint performance in four years.

Concertgoers were treated to an engaging performance. After singing their collaboration “LA CANCIÓN,” Balvin continued the set with songs including “QUE PRETENDES,” “Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola,” and Cardi B’s “I Like It.” Their dynamic performance fostered a lively atmosphere, easily dispelling any previous notions of discord.

Rumors of a fallout between the artists stem from Bad Bunny’s 2023 track “THUNDER Y LIGHTNING,” which was interpreted as a diss toward Balvin. During the concert, Bad Bunny addressed this by stating, “I apologized a long time ago — people don’t know but we had a conversation a few weeks ago. But we were waiting for the perfect moment to share the stage, and it’s good that it was here in Mexico.”

Before this performance, Bad Bunny had been achieving significant recognition in Latin music. In October, he was named the Top Latin Artist of the 21st Century at the Latin Billboard Awards. By early December, he was acknowledged as the most-streamed global artist of 2025. However, he emphasized the importance of acknowledging Balvin’s contributions.

“For many years, Jose has been representing Latinos around the entire world and opening doors for the urbano genre,” Bad Bunny remarked. “Not just in Colombia but also around the world, as well as on the Latin American and global level.”

Balvin reciprocated the praise, saying, “I’m so proud of Benito Ocasio Martinez for what he’s doing, for what he represents. Because he takes us Latinos around the world. Because he’s a kind, hardworking man, and we always knew would become one of the biggest in music history.”

In 2019, Bad Bunny and J Balvin collaborated on an album titled OASIS, with “LA CANCIÓN” serving as its second single, which has since achieved double diamond certification. It is likely that a future collaboration between these two artists, whose popularity has only increased since their first project, would generate significant attention.
