Lizzo expressed her discontent with jokes about her weight, emphasizing that she has never tolerated them, including in 2025. On December 4, she took to social media to respond to a viral post aimed at body-shaming her.

In her post, she remarked on seeing a viral fat joke about herself in 2025, sharing a photo of herself in a yellow-and-black snakeskin bikini. She described the joke as foolish and noted that it was intended to demean her due to her size. She urged others to remember that they should never allow anyone to shame them for their choices regarding their bodies.

Lizzo highlighted the unrealistic nature of societal standards for body image. She noted that regardless of size, people face criticism: “Because when you’re big, they talk s**t; when you’re small, they talk s**t. Your body will never be good enough for them because it’s not FOR them. It’s for you.”

The Grammy Award-winning artist has long been candid about her weight. In July, she responded to rumors concerning Ozempic use by posting a before-and-after photo, clarifying that she had been consistently training and engaging in daily sauna and cardio sessions. She also mentioned eliminating sugary drinks and snacks from her diet.

In her Instagram caption, she stated, “If I get a BBL, mind [your] business. If [I] lose 100 lbs, mind [your] business. If I gain every pound back and then some… mind [your] f**king business. Anyways… my fat a** stays living with a paid-off mortgage in y’all b**ches heads.”

On the music front, Lizzo released the album MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING in June, which included her viral track “YITTY ON YO TITTYS (FREESTYLE)” and the song “LEFTRIGHT,” featuring SZA and Doja Cat. In September, she released a deluxe version of the album, featuring additional guest appearances from Lil Jon and Tierra Whack.
