On Monday (Dec. 1), the Houston rapper’s legal team released a statement following their victory against the blogger, who was found liable on all three counts, including causing emotional distress and promoting a deepfake pornographic video of Megan. The musician’s lawyer, Mari Henderson, expressed gratitude for the jury’s commitment to upholding the importance of truth, accountability, and responsible social media commentary.

Henderson further stated, “Not only is Milagro being held accountable for paying Megan compensatory and punitive damages, but Florida’s fee-shifting legal provision will require her to cover the costs of Megan’s legal bills on the deepfake claim.” She concluded that this verdict sends a clear message regarding the serious consequences of spreading dangerous misinformation.

The legal team for the “Whenever” artist also noted that the court has not issued a final judgment on the total amount Gramz will need to pay, contrary to public statements made by the blogger’s attorneys. Initially, the jury awarded the Grammy Award-winning rapper $75,000, but shortly thereafter, NBC News mistakenly reported that U.S. District Court Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga had reduced the figure to $59,000.

Court reporter Meghann Cuniff clarified that this amount is based on the jury finding Milagro a media defendant, which would eliminate $15,000 in compensatory damages and $1,000 in punitive damages for that claim, resulting in $59,000 instead of $75,000.

Later that evening, Megan quote-tweeted Cuniff’s explanation of the discrepancies, stating, “Thank you… Here they go lying again, AS USUAL.” She added, “If you want REAL MEDIA/NEWS, know how to be patient and know how to READ.”

During an Instagram Live session following the verdict, Gramz mentioned—possibly with sarcasm—that she would start “working” on a mixtape. “Apparently, the only place where you can bully people, and talk crazy, and pop s**t is in the studio,” she said, according to HOT 97.

Gramz also took time to thank her followers, stating, “I love you guys so much. Hope that y’all can see the bigger picture and that you understand what new media is.”
