Afrobeats artist Ayra Starr will perform in New York in December as part of a special program by the Grammy Museum titled A New York Evening With Ayra Starr.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at National Sawdust in Brooklyn.

The two-time Grammy nominee, recognized for hits like Rush and Sability, will engage in an in-depth conversation about her music and career, followed by a live performance. The discussion will be moderated by music journalist J’na Jefferson.

Ayra Starr’s appearance is part of the museum’s initiative to enhance public programming in New York. Her role as a prominent figure in Afrobeats and a representative for African female artists highlights the genre’s growing global impact.

The event will also recognize her nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards for her song Gimme Dat. She previously made history as the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to receive a nomination in that category with her song Rush.

Her performance follows a significant year that included the release of her second album, The Year I Turned 21, and notable performances worldwide, including her debut at Glastonbury and appearances on Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Grammy Museum’s website. This New York series is supported by the Dawn and Brian Hoesterey Family Foundation.
