JayDon received endorsement from a prominent figure in the music industry. On November 25, the emerging R&B artist responded to Chris Brown’s comment, in which Brown referred to him as “next up” after viewing his performance of “Lullaby” on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”

“Bruh next up! Keep our art form from being obsolete!” Brown commented on JayDon’s recent Instagram post. JayDon responded with appreciation, stating, “Thank you, sir!!! Since a jit — like a jit jit — I [have] been inspired by you. This crazy, foo.”

The artist, who goes by Me My Songs & I, later mentioned that he prayed after noticing Brown’s message. “The blessing you have is undeniable and miraculous, [and] always has been,” he added. “I’m thankful [to] be recognized by someone so favored and blessed. I will stay true [to] the art, with integrity. I really care. Thank you, brotha. Praise God.”

JayDon performed his song alongside Paradise on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” last month. For those who may not be familiar with him, he announced in March that he signed to Usher and L.A. Reid’s record label.

JayDon is a generational rarity and an entertainment phenomenon with musical brilliance evident from his earliest days,” stated the record executive in a press release. “We are thrilled to support his promising career as he begins this new chapter with us at Mega.”

“Lullaby” is one of several standout tracks from JayDon’s label debut album, Me My Songs & I, which was released in October. The 10-song project also featured tracks like “Caviar” and “Jealous Of The Moon,” the latter of which recently received a music video.

Currently, Brown is nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards. His collaboration with Bryson Tiller, “It Depends,” has received nominations in both categories and will compete against songs like Kehlani’s “Folded” and Summer Walker’s “Heart Of A Woman.” The ceremony is set to air on February 1, 2026.
