Olandria Carthen has a keen sense of fashion and is also well-versed in music. During Femme It Forward’s fourth annual Give Her FlowHERS Gala over the weekend, the “Love Island USA” alum shared two songs she is currently enjoying.

In a conversation with Billboard, Carthen first mentioned “LOVER GIRL” by Megan Thee Stallion. She struggled to recall the title of her second choice but, with some assistance, she was able to identify it. “What’s another song [that I’m] obsessed with? What’s that YoungBoy [Never Broke Again] song that just came out?” she inquired.

The reporter responded with “Baby Boo,” referring to the Baton Rouge rapper’s track “What You Is” featuring Mellow Rackz. Carthen enthusiastically confirmed, “Ah, yes! Yes, yes, yes! That’s my jam, I ain’t gon’ lie. I love me a good hood jam.”

Megan’s “LOVER GIRL” was released in October and notably features a sample from Total’s “Kissin’ You.” In the song, the Houston artist raps, “My man, my man, my man, my baby, my baby / D**kin’ me down, spoiling me, driving me crazy.”

In an interview with Us Weekly, Megan described the song as reflective of a “new chapter” in her life. “Right now, I’m in a great space where I’m just more comfortable and open to receiving love from everyone in my life,” she said. “It’s a beautiful and peaceful place to be, so I’m really just enjoying the soft life right now.”

The Grammy Award-winning artist remarked on the positive reception of the song, stating, “I’m really happy the Hotties are loving it.”

On the other hand, NBA YoungBoy’s “What You Is” was released in September. This track, which may feature on his upcoming album Slime Cry, gained popularity on TikTok, largely due to the Baby Boo dance challenge. It also reached No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of November 1.
