JID believes J. Cole is never lacking. About halfway through the episode, DJ Wells made a joke that J. Cole must have armed security accompanying him, or alternatively, that he is armed himself, prompting JID to speculate further on the matter.

“It’s really great because the guy still remained true to himself.” At the moment, he’s likely still involved in his music, performing work, and spending time with his family, and when he does emerge, it will be more of the same, JID continued. “Linking with someone like that and then being able to utilize their platform helped me kick-start my career, which is truly ideal.”

The artist behind Friday Night Lights has often been spotted riding his bike alone or completing various side missions. In 2024, a handful of enthusiasts collided with him whilst he was pedalling through New York City.

A month prior, a fan observed the North Carolina native sitting on the beach with his laptop and headphones connected. She captioned the TikTok video, “I go to the beach to clear my head.” I casually meet J. Cole.
