The Toronto Blue Jays are a team that Drake is very hopeful will win another World Series. Following a win for his hometown team in their fifth game on Wednesday, October 29, night, Drizzy celebrated their victory on social media.

The “Nice For What” rapper shared a Los Angeles Dodgers player, Shohei Ohtani, in an Instagram Story photo wearing a sweater vest, with the accompanying caption “ONE MORE!!!!!!!”

With the win, the Blue Jays currently lead the series 3-2, allowing their team at least two chances to defeat the Dodgers in their third World Series. For Drake, the opportunity to secure a win in his proxy conflict with Los Angeles appears limited due to it being the hometown of his rival Kendrick Lamar.

A song titled Another Story by Drake included a picture of Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage striking out Ohtani. A caption “Savage already [on the way] to the dugout boss lol” was typed onto the image.

The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 31, in Toronto, and it’s unlikely that Drake wouldn’t be ecstatic if the Blue Jays were to win everything in six.

It has been demonstrated by history that when Drake supports his local professional team, he gives it his full effort. In September 2013, he was appointed as the Global Ambassador for the NBA’s Toronto Raptors. The Canadian singer was assigned the responsibility of increasing the franchise’s visibility, and incidentally, the team secured its inaugural NBA Championship in 2019.

In January, the Raptors then prohibited him from commentating on matches for a period of twelve months. The penalty arose from Drake making off-colour comments about former Raptors player DeMar DeRozan (including referring to him as a “goof”) in November 2024. The NBA star’s appearance in the music video for Lamar’s “Not Like Us” made him persona non grata for Drizzy.

Despite this, Drake was seen at a Raptors game on Wednesday, 29 October in Toronto, watching from courtside seats with his son, Adonis.
