Halle’s new collaboration with Chlöe on the latter’s debut album, titled ‘love?… or something like it’, has Beyoncé’s seal of approval. The singer of the band “Angel” told Billboard’s Tetris Kelly on Thursday, October 23, that Beyoncé was “obsessed” with the idea of hearing their voices reunite on “feel again.”

Halle explained how the record was created, stating, “I was like, ‘I couldn’t do this song without Chlöe.” It would be unsettling. She continued by saying she wanted to hear her sister’s view on the matter. She then referred to her sister as a “freakin’ cool musical genius” and stated that her sister had recorded her vocals in Lagos.

She takes her equipment with her. Halle continued, saying that she can record an entire album from anywhere because she has all her equipment with her, and Chlöe sent her thousands of background vocals and verses to select from. After The Little Mermaid actress played the track for Beyoncé, the pop icon expressed her love for it.

Halle shared that she remembered playing that one for Beyoncé as well, who was obsessed with hearing their voices together again.

Beyoncé has clearly had a major influence on Halle and Chlöe’s career trajectory, after signing the sisters to her Parkwood Entertainment label. Each of their projects, ranging from group albums to solo releases, including love?… or something like it, has been distributed through the “Partition” singer’s powerful label imprint.

In a Glamour op-ed, Halle looked back on the advice Beyoncé offered them after listening to some of their early music, which they had described as “a melting pot of different influences and genres” at the time. She told them that the work they were doing was truly spectacular. There’s no need to simplify your thoughts or ideas. The world is going to have to keep pace with you.

In addition to Chlöe, Halle’s love interest featured collaborations with GloRilla, Mariah the Scientist, and H.E.R. Listen in below.
