Summer Walker’s album “Finally Over It” is only a few weeks from release. On October 24, the singer revealed that her third studio album will be released in two separate parts, each with its own unique vinyl sleeve.

Scheduled to be released on November 14, Walker characterised the project as an examination of “the choices we have left when true love appears unattainable.” She explained, “One side, For Better, chooses me,” while the other, For Worse, “sacrifices love completely.”

The 18-track album will be split equally between the two sides, with For Better featuring its lead single, “Heart Of A Woman.” The song “For Better” is about being fully and completely chosen. I’ve made decisions that may not have been logical to others, yet I harbour no regret for any of them. Everyone taught me something.

Each heartbreak has ultimately led me to a deeper understanding of myself, and I am not searching for someone to complete me, as I am already complete. Walker continued, saying “I’m safeguarding my tranquility, valuing my self-respect, and sitting in a gentleness that’s still resilient.” From this point forward, I’m making decisions from a position of empowerment rather than vulnerability. I’m clear, I’m aligned, I’m improved.

Walker described For Worse as her finally giving up on unconditional love, having experienced more than her fair share of heartbreak. “This isn’t bitterness; it’s truth,” she said. I’ve loved too intensely, disregarded warning signs, and attempted to resolve issues that were irreparably damaged. The contrast now is that I love myself profoundly, I’ve matured, I’ve recovered, and I’m unwilling to settle for anything inferior to royal treatment.

The For Worse side of Finally Over It will feature Walker’s long-awaited song “F**k My Type,” which listeners first heard at the beginning of her “Heart Of A Woman” visual accompaniment. The full tracklist may still be a little while off, but confirmed guests for now are Latto, Sexyy Red, and GloRilla.
