A$AP Relli is proceeding with a civil lawsuit against his former friend A$AP Rocky. Following his acquittal of felony assault charges in February, the former A$AP Mob member has sought and secured new legal representation.

In January, A$AP Relli, who was born Terell Ephron, gave testimony in a Los Angeles court that A$AP Rocky had fired shots at him during a confrontation in Hollywood in 2021. The Harlem native, facing up to 24 years in prison, was acquitted.

The potential civil trial was then in limbo after the judge who had presided over the case candidly told A$AP Relli to drop the case. In September, Judge Randolph M. was a Los Angeles judge. Hammock advised him to reach out to the other side and determine if a mutually beneficial agreement could be negotiated. They might be willing to abandon their fee claim if they settle the lawsuit, but it may be necessary to accept defeat.

At the time, A$AP Relli stated he was over $500,000 in debt from the case after being dropped by his lawyers. He remained unmoved by this. According to Rolling Stone, he has assembled a new team of lawyers and is continuing to pursue an assault and battery lawsuit against his former associate A$AP Rocky. The trial is scheduled to commence on January 12, 2026.

In court on Tuesday, October 14, A$AP Relli’s new lawyers stated they were open to settling the case without going to trial. A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Wogai Mohmand, was receptive to the idea but requested a court-mandated settlement conference.

“We haven’t received any type of settlement offer from the plaintiff, so we thought a mandatory settlement conference would be more helpful to help the parties resolve the case,” Mohmand said, according to Rolling Stone.

Judge William F. Fahey allegedly instructed both parties to attempt a private resolution and granted them six weeks to locate a retired judge to preside over the mediation. The deadline for them to report back is December 10.
