Ty Dolla $ign Has Confirmed The Existence Of An Ice Spice Version Of “New Body,” Although It May Never Be Released

A potential version of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “New Body” featuring Ice Spice may remain unreleased. The singer-songwriter confirmed on Thursday (Oct. 16) that the rapper behind “In Ha Mood” did record a verse for a long-held-back collaboration that once included Nicki Minaj.

“He expressed confusion over how people were discovering this information,” he told Complex’s Jordan Rose. She wrote a verse for it, but we never used it. The “Paranoid” singer further stated that the song is stored on a hard drive, but he couldn’t confirm if it will ever be available on streaming platforms.

West revealed in 2024 that he had sent “New Body” to both Ice Spice and Doja Cat following Minaj’s refusal to clear her verse. YesJulz wanted to know who sounded best on the song. The Chicago lyricist later shared on his Instagram Stories that “Ice Spice had submitted a verse for ‘New Body.'” Her team is now claiming we’re not allowed to use it.

Ty Dolla $ign expressed a desire for the song to be available on digital streaming platforms. He thinks it would’ve been a massive hit, but he can’t recall exactly what Nicki said. Essentially, “no” in a nutshell.

Minaj closed that chapter in December 2023, she told fans during an Instagram Live, saying “That train has left the station.” I mean no offense at all. I have recently released a freshly minted album, [Pink Friday 2]. Why would I release a song that has been available for three years? Come on, guys.

Although fans don’t seem likely to receive “New Body” in the near future, Ty Dolla $ign is preparing to release new music. The musician’s next album, TYCOON, is scheduled for release on October 17, a Friday. The 15-track album will include “SHOW ME LOVE” with Tory Lanez, “ALL IN,” and “SMILE BODY PRETTY FACE” featuring Kodak Black and YG.
