Kanye West is making the holidays a little brighter for hundreds of kids.
The rapper donated nearly all 4,000 toys for a toy drive in his hometown of Chicago. While Ye was not on hand, the gifts were given away as part of an event at Kennedy King College in Englewood on Sunday (Dec. 19).
16th Ward Alderman Stephanie Coleman, who organized the charitable event, applauded Ye for his generosity.
“I’m so proud that Kanye is, once again, responding to our request to help the children of Englewood and beyond,” Coleman said. “He is no stranger to our community. His presence has always been felt in our neighborhoods and he loves visiting, but this Christmas he has truly been our modern-day Santa Claus.”
This is Ye’s latest charitable deed. For Thanksgiving, he donated over 1,000 meals to the homeless on Skid Row as part of the L.A. Mission’s annual Thanksgiving event.
On Friday, the billionaire mogul made a surprise appearance at Roddy Ricch’s album release party in Los Angeles.
