Bad Bunny Fires Back At Super Bowl Halftime Show Critics In A Bold “SNL” Monologue

Bad Bunny is ignoring the criticism surrounding his scheduled appearance at the Super Bowl LX halftime event. On October 4, Saturday, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer responded to his critics during his opening monologue on “Saturday Night Live.”

On September 28, last Sunday, the NFL announced that Benito will be headlining the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show in February. The decision sparked widespread approval, yet it simultaneously faced fierce criticism from critics, comprising conservative activists, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Fox News. Some argued that accepting the gig would be hypocritical for Bad Bunny, given that he had avoided stateside concerts during his world tour due to concerns over ICE.

The rapper who performed in “I Like It” addressed the criticism at the beginning of his “SNL” appearance and the Season 51 premiere. Bad Bunny stated that you might not be aware, but he is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and he’s very pleased about it. It appears that everyone is pleased with the situation, including Fox News.

A series of Fox News clips were then edited together to create a misleading montage that appeared to show the pundits saying, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

After the clip ended, Bad Bunny stated, “I’m very excited to be performing at the Super Bowl.” I’m aware that people globally who enjoy my music are also joyful. He then added in Spanish, “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas across the globe, and here in the US, everyone who has contributed to breaking down barriers.” This achievement is not just a victory for me personally; it’s a triumph for all of us, demonstrating that our impact and our efforts in this country are indelible and can never be taken away or erased.

Bad Bunny concluded his monologue in English, saying, “If you didn’t grasp what I just said, you have four months to learn it.”

Respect.

The Super Bowl, the 60th, is scheduled to take place on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Watch Bad Bunny’s full “SNL” monologue as seen below.
