Nick Cannon is mourning the death of his youngest child.
He shared the tragic news for the first time on his talk show, “The Nick Cannon Show,” telling the audience that his 5-month-old son, Zen, passed away from a brain tumor on Sunday (Dec. 5).
According to Nick (via TMZ), Zen started to develop what they thought was a sinus issue, and they noticed his head seemed large. Fluid started to build up in Zen’s head, and they discovered a tumor, which required immediate surgery. Things took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving, and the tumor began to grow very quickly.
Nick recalled his final moments with his son. “I holded my son for the last time…but it was a beautiful setting,” he said. “Even by the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport, I had to turn around.”
He added, “Not only did we get to see the sunrise, but we got to see the sunset.”
Zen was born June 23 and was Nick’s seventh child with model Alyssa Scott. He was Nick’s fourth child in a year. He and radio DJ Abby De La Rosa welcomed twin sons, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, in June. Back in December, Nick and model Brittany Bell welcomed their daughter, Powerful Queen.
Nick also share a son, Golden, with Bell, and has 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
