Jack Harlow, currently in Kanye West’s top five, has just dropped a fresh single titled “Set You Free.” The Louisville, Kentucky native has been enjoying considerable success following the releases of “Hello Miss Johnson” and “Tranquility,” both of which were launched with minimal promotion but have struck a chord with fans and fellow artists like Ye. It seems likely that Harlow is gearing up for a new album, especially given his lyrics in “Tranquility”: “Fans still say they miss Jack with the spectacles / Last project, I was givin’ you conceptual / Next project, I’ll be givin’ you exceptional.”
At this point, he hasn’t officially revealed a title or release date for the upcoming project. In “Set You Free,” Harlow delivers his verses over a lively beat featuring acoustic guitar melodies and high-pitched female backing vocals, which gives the impression that he may be sampling ROSALIA. The track seamlessly merges R&B and pop rap as he reflects on the need to move on from a relationship.
