21 Lil Harold – Dope Boy

21 Lil Harold Dope Boy

21 Lil Harold, a close childhood friend of 21 Savage, has released another single, marking his fourth of the year. “Dope Boy” follows the track “Nookie (Pu$$y),” which features Savage and Sexyy Red and was released in June. This suggests that we are in the midst of his promotional campaign, and when “Nookie” was released, iHeart confirmed that he has an LP scheduled for release this year. However, the new album currently lacks a specific release date.

When his (currently untitled) LP is eventually released, it will serve as a follow-up to his 2024 EP, Sick of Myself. That project included tracks such as “Sundown” featuring JID and “Gin & Juice” with BigXthaPlug.

In “Dope Boy,” 21 Lil Harold also pays homage to a classic. The beat incorporates a sample from OutKast’s 2000 single, “So Fresh, So Clean.” While the beat has a contemporary bounce, the OutKast sample is particularly prominent throughout the track. Lyrically, his content closely mirrors that of 21 Savage, addressing themes of the trap and confronting his adversaries. His flow is strong, and the bars are equally impressive.

While other songs in his catalog may be suited for the club, this track feels more appropriate for listening in a car with the windows down. 21 Lil Harold continues to release new material, and this time, he has honored one of hip-hop’s greatest songs. Be sure to listen to “Dope Boy” below.
