2 Chainz & Ne-Yo – NOT THE SAME

2 Chainz Ne Yo NOT THE SAME

2 Chainz has released another new single from the upcoming Red Clay soundtrack, titled “NOT THE SAME.” This song features 2000s R&B artist Ne-Yo on a powerful track that addresses the hardships faced by those in need in the United States. The track aligns with the themes presented in the short film, which revolves around a specific teenager struggling against significant obstacles.

Christopher A’mmanuel portrays Nook, a character attempting to flee a life marred by his mother’s drug abuse and additional difficulties with his friend Bub, in a project co-written and acted in by Omar Epps that premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival on May 3.

Prior to its premiere, he discussed the inspiration behind his involvement in 2 Chainz’s project with Variety. The motivation behind this film’s creation stems from a desire to expose harsh realities and illustrate the intricacies of how black and brown communities often come to accept and normalize traumatic experiences. My aspiration is to spark dialogue that encourages individuals to exhibit greater kindness and empathy towards others.

Immediately before the 2025 BET Awards, Red Clay performed at the BET Experience Fan Fest in Los Angeles.

The Tity Boi project has been further enhanced by two additional tracks that help to bring it to life. The events kicked off on May 2 with “THE ATL EXPERIENCE,” headlined by Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers.

Chainz joined forces with fellow Georgia artist Lil Yachty on May 16 for “SISTA WIVES.”

The release date for the Red Clay album remains uncertain, but it’s logical to anticipate its arrival sometime this summer.

Chainz’s latest foray into film serves as a follow-up to his February collaboration project with June and The Alchemist, which involved 2 key artists. The 11-track album also received a Chopped Not Slopped version later that month.
